What is Patrick Sports Foundation?
The Patrick Sports Foundation is a non profit organization that was established in 2007, by Mr. Patrick Kabuye, for the purpose of assisting disadvantaged children of Kampala, Uganda. We take on this responsibility in the spirit of Ubuntu. The word 'Ubuntu' originates from one of the Bantu dialects of Africa, and is pronounced as uu-Boon-too. It is a means of affirming our humanity by acknowledging that of others; by helping each other.
In the Kampala area, many children have been left behind due to the loss of parents, HIV/AIDS, loss of homes, or war. They either live on the streets or are refugees. They have been emotionally traumatized from being under privileged and malnourished. It is our hope to provide an outlet for the children while teaching them the fundamentals of sports. By providing meals as well as keeping the children active and focused on education and physical fitness, we can be a part of a positive outlook for them, thus embracing Ubuntu.
Patrick Sports Foundation has a team of quality leaders that are well versed and experienced in the proper management of non profit organizations as well as resource management. Our leadership team will raise funds from the contributions of corporations, sports figures, celebrities, activists, humanities groups, special fund raising projects, charitable organizations and other foundations as well as acquaintances of Mr. Patrick Kabuye.

From The Founder: My Inspiration
It has been an extreme adventure to put all my thoughts together and establish such an initiative. I have dreamed for a long time to give something back, especially to the needy children of Uganda who have no capability even to put a slice of bread in their stomachs.
However, it's worth noting that starting the foundation was a result of being inspired by a group of special individuals, and these include:

- Serena and Vanessa Williams (Athlete - Tennis Stars)
- Nelson Mandela (Former President - South Africa)
- Oprah Winfrey (Global Media Leader and Philanthropist - USA)
- Bill Clinton (Former President - USA)
- Rev. Fr. Izidore Mbaleeba
- Rev. Fr. Cornelius Ryan
Further, the starting of the Patrick Foundation was a result of paying tribute to people who influenced my soccer playing career, those listed below have all passed away, and may the almighty God bless and rest their souls in peace:
- Mr. Gideon Karyoko (Re-known Ugandan Sports Icon)
- Mr. Rushid Mudin (Sports Journalist)
- Mr. Adipondo (Club administrator and businessman)
- Mr. Eddie Ssemwanga (My childhood soccer idol) Ugandan International Soccer Star
- Mr. Paul Hasule (My teenage soccer idol) One of Uganda's finest soccer player & coach
As an appreciation, the Patrick Sports Foundation will work towards establishing an account to support the families of these past sports heroes. Donors will be required to indicate whom their donation or portion of the donation will be allocated to.
