The Children Of Uganda
About Uganda
Uganda is a land locked country with an estimated population
of 28 million. The country borders Kenya in the East, Sudan in the North, DR.
Congo and Tanzania in the South. The high population densities have been as
result of people living below the poverty line.
Efforts geared towards
bailing them out of this situation are minimal and as a result, there is
continuous suffering of many people in Uganda. The country is further empowered
with sports talent in numerous realms.
Situational Analysis On Uganda
A situational analysis carried out in Uganda on children,
revealed that there are many street children, war affected children, orphans,
HIV/AIDS victims and above all refugees in Uganda.
Most of these
children are languishing on streets where they experience total denial of basic
needs i.e. food, clothing, and shelter. They further lack medical care,
education and many more services that are basic.
However, it is against this background of mere helplessness
and despair that Patrick Sports Foundation revolves around these scenarios to
provide full service management and representation of disadvantaged children
through athletics, football, boxing and other sports personalities to these
vulnerable children who may not have chance of exploring their talents.
